Reflections from the Puise Nina Art Camp 2026: A Journey of Color, Sea, and Growth
From August 13th to 16th, I had the incredible privilege of immersing myself in four intense, inspiring days at the Puise Nina Art Camp 2026. It was a true creative escape—a rare opportunity to step away from daily routines, discover new depths in my work, and connect deeply with both my own practice and a community of passionate art lovers and creators.
The camp was a masterclass in versatility, pushing us to explore and refine our skills across three distinct mediums: pastels, watercolors, and oil painting. Guiding us through this journey was world-class art master Aapo Pukk. His approach to teaching is profoundly empowering. Instead of forcing a rigid style, Aapo introduces transformative new methodologies while honoring each artist's individual journey, helping us step up to our next professional levels at our own natural pace.
One of the most beautiful aspects of the camp was the collective energy. The learning didn't stop when the formal lessons ended; we learned just as much from watching, discussing, and sharing techniques with our fellow artists.
The setting itself was pure inspiration. Surrounded almost by a 360-degree sea view, we were treated to stunning sunrises and breathtaking sunsets that constantly redefined the light and colors on our palettes. It is impossible not to feel inspired when nature puts on such a spectacular show right outside your easel.
If you would like to see the fruits of this intensive four-day retreat, the artwork created during the camp is now on display at Puise Nina. The exhibition is hosted at the Puise Nina Guesthouse Culture Space (Kultuuriruum) and will remain open to visitors until the end of September. I invite you to stop by, experience the energy of the camp through our canvases, and share in the magic of this unforgettable experience.
A Heartfelt Thank You
My deepest gratitude goes to Aapo Pukk for sharing his brilliant mastery and to his beautiful wife, Helge Pukk, who serves as the invisible power and vital support that truly makes this camp happen.
Finally, a special note of thanks to Puise Nina Guesthouse's wonderful host family. Thank you for welcoming us so warmly into your space, taking such beautiful care of us, and creating the perfect, nurturing environment for creativity to thrive. Your hospitality was the true foundation of this magical time.
